About the event
Muema Lombe is an educator, and author dedicated to helping artists navigate the professional realities of contemporary photography. Muema formerly served as Vice President of the Board of Trustees at the Center for Photographic Art (CPA) in Carmel, California (formerly "Friends of Photography" founded by Ansel Adams, Cole Weston, and Wynn Bullock) and led both the Development Committee and the Technology Committee. Muema has also served as a portfolio reviewer alongside Ann Jastrab at the FotoFest Biennial in Houston, the Exposure Festival in Alberta, Canada, The Griffin Museum (Boston) and the Photo Alliance Portfolio Review in San Francisco.
With years of experience attending and observing portfolio reviews across the United States and internationally, Muema noticed a consistent gap: many talented photographers arrived unprepared for the high-stakes nature of these events.
Review Ready is the culmination of extensive conversations with working photographers, curators, editors, gallerists, and festival directors. Muema believes that every photographer deserves clear tools and realistic expectations to present their work with confidence and purpose.
