Each month, Nevada Camera Club highlights one of our members as the Featured Photographer, celebrating their talent, creativity, and unique perspective. This special feature offers members and visitors an opportunity to explore the photographer’s artistic vision through a curated selection of images and personal insights into their photographic journey.

The gallery highlights the creativity of our member, and every image remains the property of its photographer. We kindly ask that images not be copied, reproduced, or used without written permission.

Chip Chisena

This profile chronicles the artistic evolution of Chip Chisena, a photographer who transitioned from the labor-intensive world of large-format analog printing to modern digital techniques. For years, Chip specialized in the meticulous platinum/palladium process, a hand-crafted method that instilled in him a deep appreciation for physical prints and monochrome aesthetics.

Even after adopting digital tools in 2019, he maintains a disciplined philosophy that prioritizes the intentional and tactile nature of the medium.

Influenced by minimalist masters like Michael Kenna.

Chip continues to explore the nuances of black and white imagery through a specialized monochrome camera. Ultimately, the source emphasizes that while technology may change, the core of photography remains a dedication to craftsmanship and the belief that an image is only complete once it is printed.
